I've the opportunity o replace my x220 (i5) with a like new t450S (less than two years of life, still in warranty) available for less than 250 euro.
I'm really wondering to buy it... even if weight and dimensions, if compared with x220, could be a little daunting.
For what concerns display quality, keyboard feedback and battery life could I notice a concrete improvemente or not ?

Have you had a look at the notebookcheck reviews? Actually, according to them there isn't really much of a weight difference. The T450s seems to be thinner. Battery life could be better or worse depending on which battery you get. The GPU is a bit improved but I don't know how much that would matter to you.
Sorry for the third hand information, but I've been thinking about getting one of these Thinkpads lately, probably something around an X260...but I don't actually need one so it's hard to justify at the moment. -
Thanks for your opionion.
Actually I'd like to make this bought only if it could give me a concrete improvement for what concerns display, performance and battery life (considering the battery I use has more than 5 years of life).

I went from x220 to T450s for bigger 1080o display. Keyboard is great for me. Get extended 72mah battery which gives great battery life. Speakers are great compared to x220.

I'd say the reason to bump up to a 14" ThinkPad would be to get the 1080p IPS screen, presuming you've got the IPS screen on the X220 and don't want to downgrade quality wise. Since the T450s you're looking at does not offer the IPS, I would pass.

Having a x210, T410, T420s, T530, T520, T510, T43, T60...the T450s is quite a fantastic machine to use (and repair if needed). I like it more than x210 when it comes to portable machine to do whatever i need.
1080p screen or bust. Also dont opt for touchscreen as that will add weight and thickness (unless you really want touch).Last edited: Aug 20, 2017huntnyc likes this. -
