Hi, I have an X301 with a 128GB SSD, which I like but that I find too large for my taste. I am thinking on purchasing an X200S. Question: Could I just swap my HD into the X200S, upgrade some drivers and be ready to go?
    Thanks
    Francisco

Well, I tried swapping the SSD from my X300 into my X200 tablet a few weeks ago when I dumped a glass of water into the X300. I got a BSOD. YMMV with the X200s, though. I didn't work very hard to try to solve the incompatability.

The X300 is fine, BTW. Love the drain holes.

jane - that's most likely because you went from a GM965 to a GM45 chipset.   the chipset, controller, and video drivers would be quite different.   the X301's installation has a much better chance of working in an X201 without many complaints.

the main thing needed would be a 1.8" to 2.5" storage adapter since the X201 takes bigger drives.

You'll need FRU 42W8019 (below) to mount the SSD in an x200s. However, it should work without too much trouble (although you'll probably need to reactivate Windows due to the system change).
