    Hello everybody,

I just bought a T60p, and i wanted to format it and install a fresh windows XP pro without the ibm utilities.

My HDD is a SATA HDD.

The matter is that when i boot on the CD, it tells me that i have no HDD installed : it does not recognize the SATA...

If i hit F6 at the beginning, it tells ma that i have no floopy drive to read the OEM drivers...

    Does anyone have a solution?

    Thanks !

i just went through the same pain...i tried slip streaming and a bunch of other stuff (cause no floppy drive), wasted 10 cds and got no where.

    the solution is simple though:
-go to bios, go to your hard drive (sata) and change it from ahci to compatibilty.

    problem solved. go install now.

You did make the recovery CDs before wiping your drive?

    Thank you it worked!

I installed the ibm sofwtare i needed, and it works perfectly, except the ThinkVantage Access Connection ..

Before re-installing windows, there was an icon in the taskbar indicating that there were wifi networks near my laptop. Now there is the access connection icon, and i cant search for wifi networks. When i try to create a profile, it does'nt detect any networks ... does anyone know how to fix that?

The windows wifi utilitary detects the wifi networks, but not the IBM access connection ..

    Thanks !!

I have the same problem you do about the wi fi not having the option to find and scan for networks with thinkvantage software.
my guess is that it is somehow connected to updating the software
because i started having it after updating many features including thinkvantage.
anyway.. still looking for a solution..

hope anybody can help about it.
