Frequency of sales/deals? Missed the $200 rebate

I have decided to buy a T60p but got home too late on Friday to take advantage of the deal . Does anyone know how frequently Lenovo has these offers?

Just wondering if I should wait and how long it might be before another similar deal pops up. I looked on their website and it doesn't look like there were that many past offers. I see there is an independence sale on now for the T60 but I don't think I could deal with what I've read about the 14.1" screen's visibility issues.

On a semi-unrelated note, is 7200rpm that much of an improvement over 5400 for the hd?

I'm quite set on a thinkpad mostly because of the keyboard. My work one is a T43 and the only problem I had was the screen cracking but I have read that that was due to turning it on before it reached room temperature.. a mistake I won't repeat. I am not keen on waiting that long so if they don't have sales often I might as well buy it now...

 

I suspect it will be back, but not sure when.
