This week as I was searching through the relics that have gathered in my house, I found to my absolute delight a ThinkPad 701c. (butterfly keyboard in all) BUT it was in deplorable shape.

The outer case was banged and scratched up, some wires hanging out, and it seemed to be missing some important components, such as the hard drive and batteries.

The 701c is not mine (my fathers laptop, if it had been me I the 701c would still be working....but alas :( )

Therefore I've made it my goal to restore it to its former glory, however I have no idea where to start...(I brought my first laptop which happens to be a thinkpad T60, and I'm a recent thinkpad convert, so I'm a relative noob)

Do you guys have any ideas on what to do, to restore it?

You could try hitting ebay for spare parts. I have a TP 701c too, its too slow to be of any practical use so I just keep it on the shelf alongside my old external USRobotics Dual Standard/HST Courier modem, another favorite relic of mine.
