    Hi,

i was going to download some Forceware drivers for my NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M card from laptopvideodrivers2go. I'm just a bit lost on which one to choose.i 'm running under vista ultimate 32Bit. Not a big gamer, but do like to play occasionally.

What drivers have you guys installed or recommend?

    Cheers,

    DmZ

    http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=15360

From the comments in that thread, and another thread I saw on this forum, I'm going to try the 155.66 drivers. I've never tried drivers from laptopvideo2go, so I can't offer any experience. I couldn't find the NVS 140M supported in the 160 version drivers.

Many people on the forum have been running the 169.04 driver successfully for the past few weeks, myself included. The newly release 169.13 has gotten a few positive reviews so far and no reported major problems. If you want some of the newest drivers, your best bet is going to be either of those.

Do you have any brightness problem with the lv2go drivers? I tried 163.44 a while back and the brightness was stuck on maximum... Bad for battery life. Can you turn brightness up and down with the newer drivers? thx!

    (my config: t61, nvs140m, vista ultimate32, 2g RAM)

    Thanks for your replies :)

I just installed 169.13 drivers, i'll give it a shot for a few days and let you guys know if i had any issues.

I tried to refresh the windows experience index, but this did not change (desktop graphics: 4.0 and game 3d: 4.7) i'm a bit disappointed on this, even thaw WEI doesn't mean much...

I checked the brightness and you can modify it down or up no problem.

That WEI sounds about right for the NVS 140M. With the 169.04 my WEI graphics was at 4.0 or 4.1. It really shouldn't change with drivers updates. Just for fun, I did overclock the up to 600/900 and got a WEI graphics score of 4.8.

Let us know how you like the 169.13 driver.

So you can use the 169.13 drivers with no modification? The 169.13 post doesn't list the NVS 140M as being supported.

Yes,No... Bg~, just download the driver and the modded INF and copy it over the original INF. the modded INF lists the NVS 140M

After a Long weekend playing COD4, fiddling around with DW & PS, i had no issues with 169.13 drivers. So no rollback is planned for me.

Bg - Using these drivers is very confusing at first. The list you are looking at are the video cards that are officially supported. If you replace the original inf file with the modified inf file, the driver will work for virtually all of the current video cards. Since these drivers are not officially supported for your card, that is why there is always some trial and error to find one that works really well. Often times users will gain much improvement for gaming while sacrificing something else like brightness control. That's why there are so many posts re: "What driver are you using?"

    Hi Guys,

Hope I can join this discussion. I've been beating my head against the wall all night trying to finda a 163.44 plus forceware driver for the 140M (thinkpad T61). Can someone tell me where I can find the forceware 169.3 driver? And how to modify the inf, as mentioned?

    Highly appreciated,

    John.

For the most part you can find whatever driver you want buy finishing the links. I havent tried all of them obviously, but you get the idea.

    ie. http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/drivers/"vista,XP"/"driver #"
    http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/drivers/vista/169.39

here's the quick links for 169.39, the link to driver and .inf are on top
    Vista 32
    Vista 64
    XP
