The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     I'm writing this off my tanklike T43....
    Have a T61 as well in my stash.

    I had a brief chance to play with the E6400. Keypad was not as nice as my IBM which is important to me.

    Screen - blehh.. maybe it's just me but on the newer T61 and even the E6400, I'm just not a fan of the backlit LCD. I dunno what it is but it just seems a bit more *washed out* with the backlit IMO.

    Regardless, the size and weight of the E6400 was nice. It has the 6 cell battery.

    Just wondering for those that are familiar with both competing brands. What are you thoughts on the current competing variants...

    I haven't yet gotten mine, but I believe you can adjust the color to fix the screens seeming whited out. People do on Thinkpads.
