    Hey guys,

I have a T43 and before formatting the hard drive and reinstalling Windows, my Fn-F3 key to turn off the LCD properly worked. But when I reinstalled windows it seems that whenever I hit Fn-F3 to turn off the LCD it says,

"Preparing to turn off the monitor..." and then does nothing after.

Is there a way to fix this?

I seem to recall that you need a specific driver to make that work right in XP. Try these:

    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=ibm&lndocid=MIGR-38953
    The hotkey driver

    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=ibm&lndocid=MIGR-44185
    The customizable keyset driver

If neither of those work try rolling back (or rolling forward!) your display driver to what IBM has up as the latest version for your t43 and see if it does the trick. I may have another idea if it does not.

Hopefully that will fix the problem!
