I installed the new Windows 7 RC on my ThinkPad T400, and I cannot get the Fn+F5 key to bring up the Radios On/Off box. I've installed numerous Lenovo drivers (Intel for wireless, system interface, OSD, Access Connections, Hotkeys, etc.). Has anyone gotten this to work? If so, how? Thanks.

Not sure about FnF5. With my beta7000, I have to launch the FnF5.exe manually...

Hotkey is responsable for this action. If you installed it and it doesn't work, my only suggestion would be to install Hotkey & On-Screen ulility, both.
    If not, I guess it's a Win 7 incompatibility

So there's an exe? That's fine... I don't necessarily need the hotkey, but I do want to have access to that program. Good to know. I'll search for it.

Another topic: has anyone noticed markedly decreased battery life in Win7? With Power Manager installed and approximately the same settings I have in Vista, I only get about 2 hours (bit less) unplugged on a full charge (6-cell). On Vista, I get 4-5 hours.

So, I don't seem to have the FnF5 utility installed. I installed the keyboard customizer, and the option for "Wireless Radio Controls" is grayed out, along with everything else I didn't install. I have Access Connections and Hot Keys installed. Does anyone know where the Wireless Radio Control app is? Thx.

I'm running the RC and Fn+F5 is working for me. I installed the keyboard magnifier, OSD, and the hotkey driver. Maybe you need all three for it to work.

And yeah, I have noticed decreased battery life. Ugh, it'll take a while for Lenovo to release all the proper drivers for 7...almost makes me wish I stuck with Vista. I heard that clean installs often decrease battery life compared to factory installs. I almost wish I had a lenovo factory win7 image on my x200.

P.S. I think as more and more people install the RC, more topics like this one will come up...for example, I can get EasyEject to run but not properly. OSD brightness does not work, although the buttons do function as they should. I cannot edit the OSD properties since apparently when installed it doesn't get into the registry properly. And my fan stays on even at 38C. There should be a ThinkVantage/Windows RC topic that helps address all these issues.

did you get a registry error when installing the OSD?

I had to create the following key to get OSD to work with any of the fn combos

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Controls Folder\Display\shellex\PropertySheetHandlers

I have no use for Fn+F5. The hardware wireless switch on the front of the notebook does the trick for me every time.

Front switch is great if you want to turn off all radios but not so great if you want independent control over the individual radios (WiFi, Bluetooth, WWAN).

Not a big deal though, really.

Yes, I was using build 7100 (x64) for about two weeks and I could never get more than 1:45 out of the 6-cell and about 2:20 from the 9-cell. I did install the power manager, but to no avail something on the ThinkPad is not 100% ready for Win7.

    I have a T61p.

run regedit, navigate to hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\controls folder. now, you need to make the remaining keys. display, shellex, and propertysheethandlers. after that, close regedit, and install the hotkey driver and there should be no error and some functions will work.
