Has anyone else noticed that prices on the T61 have gone up and down by as much as $500 every couple of days over the last couple of weeks??

Yep, because the T61 are always on and off with promotions and sales, they are trying to get rid of the T61's in order to have room for the new T400 and the T500s.

Those of the T61 are whatever left in their warehouse, once those are gone. The T61 will be gone.

Once the T61 is gone we will start seeing the best deals yet on the T400 when they have a sale on those. The existing T400 CPP prices are good and will likely expire but the next set of pricing promos will be even better.

The T400's are a limited stock item for the month of August as supplies are very light. The real supplies won't be ready till September till October for the new Centrino 2 models, not just Lenovo.

Which is why I will wait it out for a T400. I want a T400 with Wimax and at the best possible price. Early versions will also have bugs as well such as broken recovery disks and the like. I am in no rush to purchase. It is never best to be the guinea pig but rather wait for the product to be stable and mature.

I agree with you, but I would like to have my new computer to go to school :)
