From the results of their tests the SSD doesn't live up to the hype I've seen discussed here:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=145550&highlight=ssd

The first paragraph says "your Windows boot becomes instantaneous"

I think I'll wait until the gap becomes more pronounced, which should coincide with a drop in price as the technology becomes more readily available.

I don't about you, but the results of the tests speak for themselves and look very impressive.
The SSD's did show clear superiority just about in every test, short of server environment.

I'm very impressed by SSDs. I'd jump on one if they were available ~100GB but still at the same price, but I don't expect that to happen for about 3 years.

It's quite possible that Windows boot is "instantaneous" (or at least only a few seconds) with the Mtron SSD drive that Snap is talking about in the link you provide. It sounds like it is a superior SSD compared to the Sandisk SSD discussed in the "TomsHardware" article. I'm sure that all SSDs are not created equal. You know... just like not all 7200RPM drives are created equal. There is 7200.1 and 7200.2 (perpendicular technology really gave a boost) and there are often variances in performance from one manufacturer to the next.
