I have, in my possession, a ThinkPad T60. The only problem, cosmetically or functionally, is that the plastic covering over a corner has been ripped off.
Hence:
I was thinking about using electrical tape to wrap that entire section up, but I was afraid that there would be inadequate ventilation.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Leon

Buy another base on eBay for around $30 and replace it; or live with it (better for the overheating problem anyway).

$30 might be a little low.

I found one for a little more than $30 here:

However, is that the right part for this fix? Also, how would you replace the bottom case?
Thanks,

If your laptop is the 14.1" model (which it looks like it is) it should fit. You can ask the seller to make sure, and also double check in the Lenovo T60 hardware manual here which also contains instructions on how to replace the bottom case of your T60.

I would buy this off you and fix it myself

Hmm. Replacing the bottom case looks... well, pretty difficult.
Any other more "DIY" methods? -
That very laptop is now listed here for only $299.

I decided to get a netbook instead. -

T60 with builtin Verizon WWAN is not bad.
