Is it possible to turn the FireGL card in the ThinkpadT60 into an X1600 card so that it would perform better and not run into any compatibility issues with games?

I don't know the answer to your question. But, I installed the Omega drivers on my T60 (with the FireGL card) and gained about 10% in the 3Dmark05 score (3200 -> 3500). I also tried overclocking and hit a wall very quickly (only was able to raise the clock by 10MHz).
