The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    So I posted this in the Software section but haven't gotten a good response.

    Does anyone use any software for the biometric fingerprint reader other than the utility that comes installed from IBM? I've heard about other brands being able to use the fingerprint reader to scroll vertically and for passwords in IE. But I dont see this with the Thinkpads, maybe I'm missing something.

    I tried installing Omnipass, but it didn't recognize the fingerprint scanner
