My T43P fingerprint reader is disabled. How do reenable the fingerprint recognition. I added my brothers pinky, the thinkpad restarted and my fingerprint reader now says disabled. I will call tech support and wait 1 hour for help.

If anybody has a solution, I will definately appreciate the help.

Some people have said that IBM provides excellent tech support. It is my (minimal) understanding that only the PC *sales* have been sold to Lenovo, but the Tech support is still done by IBM? Uncertain.

    Karl,
Restart your computer one more time. This should re-enable the fingerprint reader software.

I can't even understand this conversation, sheesh. I've never heard of the biometric scanner disabling itself. I'd consider re-installing or calling support.

    For future reference,
    1. you can disble/enable fingerprint readed from the BIOS.
    2. You can do the same from ThinkPad Configuration in Access IBM or ThinkVantage
    3. Can do the same from device manager
