Sometimes when my computer comes back from sleep the red fingerprint login button at Vistas Welcome Screen says "Please connect the fingerprint reader", this never happens when i boot my computer (pre. OS, or in OS) and as such i think it is software and not hardware related. Anyone else got a clue what could be the problem?

    Regards /JF

Does it eventually go away and you can swipe? The FPR's can be slow when they come out of sleep or hibernation.

Thanks both of you! I found that it could turn it of to save battery.
I guess it won't draw that much juice so I'll deny it that ability in the future.

Should the problem still occur I'll listen to optomos advice and just give it a minute.

    Thanks people! /JF

Interesting, never had that happen to me after I put it to sleep/hibernation. Guess I'll see sooner or later, nice read.

    Hello,
How do you make it so it doesn't turn off the finger print reader. I can't log on after sleep using the finger print reader because it says it is not connected.

Mine said the same thing a few weeks ago. Only happened twice. When I turned the computer back on from sleep, below the fingerprint option, instead of "swipe finger" is says "connect fingerprint reader" and you have to manually type in your password. This only happened two times, and (knock on wood) has been fine since. I have not done a single thing (as far as upgrading drivers, etc.) to the computer, so maybe the fingerprint reader was not awoken from sleep yet or something ??
