I was trying to change the settings of the fingerprint reader, but only one change was saved (time of inactivity before the application is turned off). The other two changes would always be reset to the default no matter how I change them:

number of failed attempts before lockout: 5
    duration of lockout: 120 seconds

(I tried to change the 5 and 120 here to different numbers.)

    Anyone any clue?

    Edit:
Had a few more tries and here is my own answer: the number of failed attempts before lockout seems to be limited to no more than 10, and the duration of lockout seems to be limited to no less than 60 seconds. When I did so the settings were saved :)

You assume the settings are saved? Actually, you may check the registry but it helps to know the variable name that its stored under.
