The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Fingerprint reader ceased to work on x60s

    My x60s fingerprint reader used to work flawlessly. Now whenever I try to use it to log in, it responds "processing", but never gets farther and returns to the original login screen. I suspect maybe it is something not running at startup that should be running, but what do I know. When I go to "biometrics" it seems to all be set to run properly.

    Any ideas?
