    Dear Sir/Madam,

    I have Lenovo 3000 N200 (0769), Windows Vista Home Basic SP1 (English),
Fingerprint Sofrware 1.1.0.21 (Russian), AuthenTec, Inc. AES2501A - 7.9.0.4 and the following problem.

The NB was bought 2 months ago. The Fingerprint has worked perfectly for a month and half. Now when I try to input my fingers it says "the swipe is too short". In a service center of my city they have suggested to format my disk, to install the system anew, and if it does not work, to book the detail. In whole it takes at least 2 weeks. :( Because of work I can not allow to part with it for a such long period of time. Please, could you be so kind as to recommend something? Or it looks as really "hardware" problem?
    Thanking in advance!

    Sincerely ,

I think that means your finger is too narrow. It shows up with the same error when I was setting up the fingerprint reader for my girlfriend. Only her thumb was wide enough to work. Try adding your thumbprint into the fingerprint program. Bet it will work.

Or just press down firmer on a normal finger to increase the 'spread'

Make sure your finger isn't too dry. The sensors get a little flaky if your finger is a little dry.

Thank you for the answers. But I have used it without any problems for a month and half by the same fingers. I suppose that may be either some updates of Lenovo or Vista have created this problem or the detail has died.

Has anybody faced the similar problem?
