    Hello all,
I have a Lenovo T400 that I got back when they came out almost two years ago. I still love it. Recently I did a clean install and upgraded to Windows 7. I haven't reconfigured the fingerprint scanner. When it worked I used it only for windows login. I thought the web plug-in was junk, and I didn't use it as a password manager.

    Do I...

    A) Use the Authentec driver from Windows update, and let Windows 7 handle authentication.

    B) Find an Authentec driver from their website, and let Windows 7 handle authentication.

    C) Use a Lenovo driver and let Windows 7 handle authentication.

    D) Use a Lenovo driver, and use the Lenovo security suite to handle authentication.

Are there more options and what do you think are the pros and cons of each option? Also, I use my Xbox 360 as media center extender. The factory vista drivers interfered with this operation. Have they fixed this with more recent drivers?

Thanks for your input. (Sorry if this is a repost)

I also use mine for log in purposes and use the default windows update authentec driver and the truecrypt software. This is much quicker to initialize during log in than the lenovo provided software and drivers.

The lenovo software provides power on swipe facility and unless you need the website log in featrures or the other features provided by the lenovo software, my suggestion is to use the default software/drivers.

Have you had any problems with Windows media center extenders?
