After such a long and painful comparison between T60 and Dell Latitude D620, I finally took the plunge and ordered a T60 last night. Really liked the config and looks of the D620 (now a Latitude C640 owner and happy with that), but have seen too many negative complaints against its screen, although some faint voices told me it's just pure luck of what people might get and those who complained are way too picky...
Anyway, the last hit - the lowered price for all Lenovo notebooks yesterday, broke my last line of defence, hope the investment is worth the waiting....

    T7200; WinXP Pro; SXGA+; 1.5G RAM; 100G 5400RPM HD; 128M ATI 1400; 6-Cell

you'll be very happy you went with the T60 instead of the Dell, not that Dells aren't any good.

I'm a T60 fan and would take it over the D620 -- although I do like both. What kind of price did you get, some good prices out there right now.

The price was $1363 + 5% state tax. Thanks, Abaxter!

Congrats a fine machine. I didn't mind the dimness on the d620, but rather the blur on the ones I have seen was irritating. Otherwise it was a very nice machine.

I was considering the D620 for some time, then heard the complaints about a "defective" screen (inadequate brightness) and stumbled upon a company called IBM.

Wow... that's a really good price. I got the exact same thing and paid just about $2000. However, that includes tax, 4yr warranty, case, etc.

Congrats man, and welcome to the "waiting-for-my-super-awesome-T60-to-arrive-club". Lol.

Mturco11x, you got way more service options than what I've got... that might contribute to the big price difference... By the way, how did you find out the ABGN wireless option?

just call the representative if you want ABGN if you've all ready ordered online and your order isn't too far ahead you can still call a representative and have it changed. The price difference is only $30

What benefits will the 'n' in 802.11n offer?

I heard that the n series cards have much higher data transfer rate (max 10x of what 802.11g can do). But IEEE may have not finalized this thing yet so anything labeled as 802.11n is actually so-called "pre-N".

Plus does the other party have to be using n?

well, yeah... the wireless access point has to be N, otherwise you can only use the backward compatibility of this thing...
This link has every detailed info of the 802.11 protocol including N.
