So as it turned out, my University tuition included a laptop. But too bad I don't get to choose the model. They say it will come preinstalled with University programs that I will need.

Its a ThinkPad e61i. And according to their letter I found out it has specifications very much like this one: http://www5.pc.ibm.com/uk/products.nsf/$wwwPartNumLookup/_NG1E8UK?open&OpenDocument&epi=web_express

    now, I have few questions:

1- How many ram sticks can that computer take?
2- Does it usually come with single stick one gig or two sticks?
3- Is the graphics module any good?
4- Can it play CoD 4 or Battlefield 2?
5- Is it possible to upgrade the graphics module?
6- Does it have the PCMCI or whatever its called? I'm planning on getting a tv tuner.
7- any idea what is the maximum output resolution when hooked on external display or tv?

ummm... I think thats about it :)

    1- Two.
2- The one you posted comes with single stick 1 GB.
3- No, the one you posted has the IGP X3100.
4- Maybe with the lowest setting, but still not very well.
5- There are other R61 models with NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M, but still not a very powerful card for heavy games.
6- Not all R61 models come with an ExpressCard slot, they all have an older PC Card slot though, but you should get the model that also has an ExpressCard slot.
7- Max resolution (with max video RAM): 2048x1536 16777216 colors.
