Did you find your precious *imitates Gollum*?

That's a really good deal, x200s is still super expensive. Extend that warranty!

Im thinking about doing that. I know from the m11x that I will be able to use this notebook for at least another 2+ years. Cant wait to see it arrive at my door step.

I wish they made an T510s, then I'd buy it cause its perfect big screen but i wish it was thinner.

i looked at pictures of the x201 and x201s, to me size-wise there is no practical difference?

I would love a thin and light 15.4 or 15.6" machine, too. IPS screen of course. :D

Regarding the x201 and x201s, I thought the only difference was the 1440x900 res screen. The x201t on the other hand is slightly bigger.

Yeah its not the size, rather its the screen resolution and the ulv chip that make it a good choice for me.

Lol no thanks! One of the reasons why this was so great is that it came with one. Now I just need an ultrabay battery as I think it comes with a 9 cell.

The wxga+ was honestly the first thing that drew me towards the x200s back in 2008 then the battery life. When I got an m11x I fell in love with ulv core 2 duo chips and wanted one even more. As soon as I quit gaming I have been working towards getting one. So happy!

Oh and I just got the call to pickup my other new toy a taurus 24/7 oss .45. No its not a toy but a figure of speach. :p

lol comparing M11x to x200s is sacrilege! The M11x is not that portable, not that powerful, is bulky and quite unpleasant to look at. Also the changing LEDs attract attention to itself. Even I outgrew that, zomg Alienwares are so good, also that glossy screen is blarghh.

I thought it was an SL processor, still a capable processor just reduced wattage (low voltage,18 watt) compared to like SU/U (ultra low voltage,10 watt).

Congrats liquidxit2! How long have you been scoping out for an X200s? I always wanted one after realizing that I don't really need the power that mine has (plus the X200s is cooler, lighter, has longer battery live, and that resolution! ). Any plans for it like SSD?

Again Ill show you its more portable. The m11x is smaller then the x200s and when it comes in Ill take comparison shots. Yes its an SL CPU and not an SU. The m11x is better then most give it credit. I was able to max WoW at great frames (no small feat anymore) get 8+ hours of battery life and do anything I needed and wanted to do. Now that I dont game and the nvidia messing with my grub loader I gave it to my mom. Had there been a bios disable for the nvidia card Id still be rocking it to this day. 8+ with glowing green keyboard and more then enough power to work was a huge plus.

I have been scoping out x200s machines since 2008 when they released. I wanted one like the one I got but they were alot more expensive then the t400 and couldnt game. So I got a switchable t400 as that was all I could afford and so I could game. Am I disappointed in the t400? Heck no! Now the ol' t400 will become my server as my dell vostro and XPS leave my possession for good soon and the x200s will be my mobile rig. almost 3 years of waiting and finally I get one. :)

My plans are an SSD and ultrabay battery when I save the money. After that its enjoy the laptop for as long as I can.

    Congrats!

Time to buy a Lenovo-branded Intel 5300 Wifi card off of Ebay.

I just received a Toshiba Portege M200 tablet notebook with a dying mainboard (corrupt nVidia video) for free. Nothing special, but the mainboard is only $40 on Ebay, so I ordered it.

    It'll be my weekend project.

Those small laptops are insanely expensive (remind me of those Vaio ones).

But nice deal you got there.

Nah I have been enjoying the 5100 in my t400 for a while now. So I think ill stick with it and save for an ultrabay battery and a ssd. Nice deal on the laptop, no matter the age $40 for a working computer ain't bad.

I see x200s on ebay going for near $2000 still. Crazy! I'm really surprised I got as lucky as I did used or not. new in box with my specs goes for $1000 with a 6 cell and no ultrabase. Super excited and can't wait to let the t400 take a break and sit on my desk as a server. Going to be nice carrying a 12in again.

Welp, got the mainboard. One totally restored tablet notebook, after about an hour's work.

It's actually got two 1GB DDR sticks in it, those are a touch rare. Now I just need to find if I can upgrade it from a Banias to a Dothan-core CPU.
