    Hey guys,

Well, it's official. I've finally decided on the T60. Just ordered it on Sunday. Here are some of the stats. Don't remember them all.

T2700 2.33 GHz Core Duo Processor
    XP Professional
    2 GB RAM
    100 GB 7200 rpm HD
    128MB ATI x1400
    15" SXGA+ screen w/Flexview
    8x DVD burner

Cost a fortune, but hopefully it will be worth it.

Now I have to bear a two week wait. :)

I take it you ordered directly from the lenovo website? I did a config job exactly the same as yours, and yes, it IS a fortune!

I did buy direct from Lenovo. Final price was 2692, I believe. But for the quality, it's worth it. I've used a number of Dells before, most recently an E1505, and just really haven't been at all happy. I hope Lenovo is as good as they are reputed to be. :)

Good for you :) I wish I could get one too

By the way, for all you thinkpad owners out there. How do you guys feel about the CTRL and FN keys? Anybody knows why they designed it this way? Just curious.

Because IBM is a *nix oriented company, and it's more convenient for *nix users. That just carried over to Lenovo.

Ok, probably not. But I just swap caps and control and all is good. Caps lock has no business in such a convenient spot anyway.

How did you swap the caps and control on the Thinkpad. I'll probably want to do it also, when I get my Thinkpad.

Placement of the Fn key is so annoying. Everytime I try to copy stuff with (Ctrl + C) I accidentally press (Fn + C) instead so when I try to Paste something, nothing happens.

Can the Function and Control Key be remapped and switched? Does anyone know about this?

I don't believe it can be remapped. Others have asked the same thing about asus keyboard, and apparently its built into the system in such a way that it cannot be done.

How do you remap the Caps Lock key and make it the Ctrl key?

I use Linux, and it's an option for the keyboard driver in the X windowing system. I think it can be done in the registry of Windows, I'm not really sure.
