Whenever I come out of sleep or even my screensaver sometimes, the graphics driver seems to reset itself... so the screen will appear, then go black for a second or two, then come back. It's kind of annoying, and it happens with both integrated and discrete options. This never happened before, but I did a full restore using the rescue/recovery, and now it's like this.

Also, is there a way to make fn+F2 go directly to lock mode instead of opening the thinkvantage option?

    thanks!

Not sure about the graphic issue, but to directly lock your computer you can use the window key + L

bloopity bump? I'm not sure what's causing it.

the power gauge icon on the taskbar is present during the first time the computer resumes, then the screen goes black and when it comes back the power meter is gone, but then reappears (as if it was shut down when the screen went black)

Same thing happens to me... I think the graphics drivers have some issues, as after waking up sometimes the ATI card will show up in device manager when it shouldn't. I think the screen going black might be the ATI card turning on even when power manager thinks it's in integrated mode.

Hopefully some new drivers are released soon... I would also love a way to switch graphics without lenovo power manager.

hmm, maybe I'll try updating the drivers soon (haha, maybe I should have tried that first). the weirdest thing, though, is that this never happened until I did a recovery... except I also did a recovery the first time I got the laptop. :(

another problem I just found: sometimes when coming back from sleep it won't allow me to change power settings (i.e. I sleep it in max battery life, come back, plug it in and it in and turn it back on and I can't go to max performance)

My screen does the black thing to and always comes back .. mine has done this since I received my laptop so I assumed it was normal.

    hm... strange.

also, as to the power settings problem: it seems as though the taskbar icon "breaks" (does not refresh, can not be closed, and is "stuck" on an old reading of battery life), but the try icon + the thinkvantage suite remains working and settings can be altered from their.
