Hello, I am looking to purchase a thinkpad and I really want to know a few things:
1.How much does it weigh with the 9cell battery?
2.How much hours can you get with the 9cell/6cell?
3.What parts are upgradable in the future?

    Thanks!

I think it's right around six pounds with the six-cell. The bigger battery adds about a half a pound.

A lot of the batter life will depend on the settings, but with average settings it's about four on the six-cell and about six on the nine-cell.

With enough skill everything's upgradeable, but I think Lenovo would consider the memory, hard drive and WiFi customer upgradeable.

How about the heat? Does it get really hot?

EDIT: How much battery life can you get on the w500? How heavy would it be? (W500 looks really good)

Unless you need the workstation card for CAD or OpenGL, etc. work, get the T500. Both have excellent battery life (identical due to switchable graphics, assuming the rest having the same parts), but the HD 3650 (256MB is more than enough, 512MB V5700 won't make any difference in games due to the 128-bit bus width).

A T500 with a 9-cell battery weighs about 6 and a quarter pounds. I can get, on average, around 7 hours of wireless productivity time, provided that I am indoors (screen <50% brightness).
