As I just said in your other thread, ronan_zj, please do your research before starting these rumors. The keyboards are just from different manufacturers (the same ones thinkpads have always had), and are not related to lenovo. That's also not related to his question.

Daniel01, your keyboard is just getting shiny from oils from your hands. I don't know what the 'proper' way to clean it is, but I just use some soap and water (making sure not to get under the keys very wet).

How about 100% iso-propanol (rubbing alcohol) and cotton swab. water is too risky.

That would work, any alcohol based liquid should do. Even hand-sanitizer.

I use Fellows screen cleaning spray on all surfaces of my laptop. I figured if it safe on the screen its safe on all of it. Spray it on a soft cloth not straight on to the laptop.

I am not sure that cleaning the keys will make them less glossy. It may just be that the surface of the keys is getting slick through normal use. I wouldn't worry about that, as long as the visibility of the letters and other symbols printed onto the keys is not reduced. If the latter happens, you can ask Lenovo to send you a new keyboard.

Only way to prevent glossy keys on any keyboard is daily cleaning of the keys (i usually use alcohol based cleaner and a soft cloth and wipe until the finger oil comes off). It is normal for keyboards to get glossy through normal use. I have a z60t and keys and still looks new. I also use an external keyboard when docked so I don't touch the laptops keyboard as much.

I dont think this problem caused by oil from my hand. It's really make sense here cause its a new one and famous brand - IBM. I am really sad because I put my heart on IBM so much.

Oil from hands is the problem, that's what makes the keys glossy. Also, many hand creams will do that too.

You sure about that? Did cleaning it work or not?
The only thing you should probably be sad about is that you don't wash your hands more frequently :p

Well, I know the oil from some hand creams and oils will make them permanently glossy...your natural oils will do the same thing only at a slower rate. So cleaning it could likely do nothing.

Some hand creams and oils (baby oil for one) will instantly make the keys glossy and no amount of cleaning will fix it (so the only one month of ownership doesn't matter).
