    To all T43 owners,

I just had a bad experience with my Toshiba Tecra S2. It was so uncomfortable to use because of (1) fan noise, (2) heat and (3) lack of keyboard precision that I decided to return it !

IBM T43 is definitely on my new shortlist (actually IBM T43/T43p or HP NC8230/NW8240)

Can you guys tell me more about fan noise and heat on the T43 ?

NB: I am a normal "business" profile, mainly using my laptop for emails, wordprocessing, surfing, etc and occasionnally playing a DVD

Thanks a lot for your feedbacks

You could go with a T42 if you are concerned about fan noise. The fan on my T42 almost never comes on. You'll get a 10% performance boost on the T43, but better battery life on the T42. From the things you listed, I doubt you'd notice any difference between them.
