Hi,
I had been using ma T500 with Win7 64 Professional for past 6 Months and lately it shows bugs in networking, ie unknown network problem and a hell lot like that..
And i always wished to reinstall the same..
So today I booted into a T500 using ubuntu CD and by using Gparted deleted all the partitions including R&R partition(Q), as I have already made ma recovery disks...
But when I put the recovery media, it shows a windows System recovery window and has 2 option, repair a windows installation and to restore from a back up image..
Both seems to have trouble as the latter couldn recognise my Recovery disks..
I got Mad and used Gparted again to delete the system Partition, now all I have s a clean Harddisk...
Lenovo documentation clearly says that we could use recovery disks to bring the system to original state even when the HDD s replaced or when all partitions are deleted..
But in ma case, the recovery crap doesn show any means to install the factory backup..
Plz do guide me
-
did you create the recovery disks yourself or did you get the discs from Lenovo?
Did you insert the Start Recovery disc? -
I didn get any recovery disks from lenovo. I created them myself using R&R wizard which made the boot medium and data medium...
But when i insert the boot medium, it doesn give the Factory Restore option as in Lenovo websites, insetad it gives windows 7 Recovery options -
i am not sure about the Win 7 Recovery discs. But usually, the boot medium should boot into the Rescue and Recovery console and let you recover to factory condition.

It should boot into Recovery console..
But in ma case it doesn't instead it shows two options
1. Repair a Windows Installation
2. Restore Computer from a backup image...
Both didn seems to work...
I called the lenovo customer centre, and they told me that they couldnt service ma laptop just because i deleted the R&R partition, as lenovo wish its clients to have a C drive with contents and R&R Drive..
And they gave two other options, ie to Pay a sum of Rs 1675 (Approx 40$) to repair the windows installation or I could use any pirated or unlicensed version of Operating system...
I donno what to say to these guys, so far the worst incident in ma life..
And the other favourable option is to use another T500 with Win7 Professional , recovery disk and I dont know anyone having those, they seems unavaialable in torrents also..
Any suggestions !!! -
Make sure it is booting to the DVD. It sounds like it's bypassing the DVD boot process. Take the DVD out and boot without it. Does it exhibit the same behavior? If so, that's your problem.
