FYI - T400s now selling for $774, X301 for $799 at MS Store

I know this is a "deals" forum topic, but I wanted all the Thinkpad heads here to know about this ridiculous sale.

Wilse, they just reactivated it today. It works. I ordered one today and cancelled my order from last night, saving $329 in the process...

 

whenever I add it to the cart it changes the price back to the original ($1549) with the following message:

they are probably doing the discount in limited runs on a per day basis or something.

 

That would suck. If so, by all means check it out tomorrow. I placed my order at about 4 PM Eastern today.

 

Wish I just had $800 around to buy a spare laptop (x301) to use .

Was or is there some kind of warranty issue with buying from MS? Thought I had read about one person being passed around between Microsoft and Lenovo on warranty and not getting traction on some action with respect to an issue. Great pricing. If I needed one, would buy.

It appears to be going at regular (undiscounted) pricing, at least for the time being. It would be worth it to monitor the deal though. They seem to hit daily quotas and take the deal down, only to restore it. I managed to order mine just before they deactivated the code a couple weeks ago. The code which resulted in the significant discount is "MSStore-PC-50%". Enter this prior to completing checkout. Another option would be for you to visit the Lenovo Outlet, at outlet.lenovo.com. There are some good deals to be had there as well.
