Another issue I've noticed that relates to OSD:

If you change the OSD Color to red (R=255,G=0,B=0), it will actually not be red, but clear... kinda useless when adjusting your volume or screen brightness and you're at either end of the scale...

The color red still show up properly in pop-ups (Presentation/Display Scheme, or Wireless Radios)...

More of an annoyance, as 254,0,0 works just fine...

For those that don't know how to get to the color setting:

Right-click desktop ==> "Display Settings" ==> "Advanced Settings..." ==> "On Screen Display" tab.

OSD pops up at startup for no reason. I'm using a clean install of Windows XP.

I've checked at lenovo website and installed the system interface drivers. it seems to have been updated recently and it supports windows XP. it didn't helped.

every time windows starts, the setting of the volume and the brightness pops up on the screen for 2 seconds, is this normal behavior?

I'm not sure if you can disable it at startup without disabling it completely. You can adjust how long it shows it for though. There are settings in your advanced Display Properties. You can change the font, size, fadeout time, and color. This is for XP.

Well, I don't have this settings. Probably because I've installed the graphics driver from intel, and not the Lenovo one.

    thanks anyway.

I have a fresh install of WinXP on my T400 and am having the same issue as ColMaki. I am unable to find the OSD tab under advanced display properties. I can only see the traditional Windows tabs as well as the Intel GMA Driver for Mobile tab. I know OSD is installed since the green icons appear whenever I change volume or brightness. However, some of the Function keys are not working. Fn+F4, Fn+F5, and Fn+PgUp work without issues. However, I cannot get Fn+F3 to power off the display. I can power off the display if I click on the power manager battery icon and manually select it. The option in power manager is set Fn+F3 to turn off the display. I have already tried reinstalling the drivers, but this has not solved the issue. Is anyone else having problems using the function keys on an XP install? Thanks for anyone who can help!

Same problem with OSD on my T60 with Radeon X1400 - after installing Omega Drivers does not work at all.
I see only some kind of "point" when I press Fn+Home/End or volume buttons...
