    Hey all,

I bought a x230 a few weeks ago and switched the 320gb hdd for a ssd and I couldn't more pleased with this machine for school work.
This semester, however, requires work on linux so I was wondering if it is reasonable to salvage the old hdd for ubuntu and if there any portable solutions for carrying both on the go and switch out easily whenever I need one or the other.

    Thanks!

The X230 allows for mSATA SSD in addition to the main drive. For about $75, you can buy a 64GB mSATA SSD ( like this one, plenty for Linux) and set up your notebook for dual boot.
