I would've posted this in the "wireless" forum, but somehow it wasn't allowing me to, so I'm posting it here.

I have a IBM THINKPAD LAPTOP T30 P4 with a 802.11G PCMCIA wireless card. I live a couple blocks from the university so I can't detect the university's free internet.

What's the best way for me to extend my laptop range so that I can feed off the campus internet??? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Check out the Super Cantenna for help. No standard laptop WiFi card is going to reach that far without additional equipment.

The Super Cantenna sounds awesome. Thanks.

Is there anyone who has actually tried the Cantenna? Does it work well?

Any other suggestions, or better yet...... anything better than the Cantenna?

Well, a cantenna attached to a strong wireless repeater would probably be even more powerful but that's going to be quite a bit of money and work involved...

    Thanks.

    The "wireless repeater" sounds ok.

It seems like it does the same thing as the Super Cantenna. So what's the difference? The Cantenna directs the signals?

I suppose if I was to just get one or the other, then the Super Cantenna would be best ????

And, do combining the two really in fact make it stronger, or is this just a theory?

    Thanks.

I guess no price can beat E-Bay though.

So I guess the big question is..... How much of a difference does a make to have both Cantenna and a Repeater, as to just having a Cantenna or Repeater?

Just so we're clear though...... If a person is to just buy the Cantenna or the Repeater, the Super Cantenna would be best right?
