Just bought a 2 port flush mount 54mm USB 3 expresscard (Startech.com) and it does not see any USB devices I plug into it. I installed the drivers from the CD and from Startech site and device manager shows drivers installed correctly. To me, it appears there is not enough power to drive my thumb drives etc.. Everything seems to be installed correctly but just does not work. I'm thinking there may be issues with the expresscard slot. I installed a portable optical drive which works fine on the two regular USB 3 ports on the left side but only see a faint light on the drive when connected to the Expresscard. The right side USB 2 is not enough to drive it. The new card can't even recognize a USB 2 thumb drive. Is there any Lenovo drivers that I am missing for this? It's really looking like the card not getting enough juice from the MB. Also put the question to lenovo forums. Its looking like I will have to carry my docking station with me overseas and I was trying to avoid that.

I also used the supplied power cable that came with the Startech expresses card and plugged that into one of the other USB 3 ports.. even that did not help. Maybe its a bad expresscard as well? Very frustrating, even Lenovo sells this version of the expresscard directly on lenovo web site. Its one of the better cards out there.
