    Hey,

I was just wondering if anyone could provide me with an exhaustive list of the possible accessories I could get that use the Expresscard slot in my thinkpad r400. I'm not familiar with this component because my last laptop had a PC card slot.

I was also wondering what types of laptop sleeves others have with their r400/t400 thinkpads? Are some considerably better that others?

    Thanks in advance

The zeroshock III is good, but make sure you get it one size bigger then your laptop

I have an r400 (14.1 inch screen) so I should get a zeroschock case that is meant for a 15 inch screen?

im not so sure about that. I have a t400 and got a zeroshock for 14in and it fits perfect. also expresscard can do a lot. from add esata, sata, additional usb, memory card reader..... it's also a lot faster than pcmica

is it a tight squeeze?..... because I know the r400 is thicker than the t400.

my T400 with a 9-cell on the 14.1 in. zeroshock III is a tight fit. How much thicker is the R400?

Read this ExpressCard page for ideas about options. It's a little out of date, but it will give you an idea of the wide range of possible devices for an ExpressCard slot.

my mistake....they don't differ that much. I think the r400 thickness is ~ 1.4 - 1.5 inches while the t400 is around the same (without the LED screen). With the LED screen it is thinner at ~1.2 inches.
