There will be a 15% restocking fee.

Are you sure you want a X61 though. The resolution is really low on the X61 compared to the T61.

Call and ask to return ... if they'll let you.

    Also, do you have a 15.4 inch or a 14.1" T61?

    I have a 14.1" T60 and it's not heavy ... well, maybe compared to an x60 :p

What kind of carrying solution are you using?

    comparing with?? :D

I am having a hard time to decide if I should sell the X60s for a T61 just for the higher resolution.

But it seems that xga is all right for web surfing, office work... but definitely not great, not great.

Any T61 model will have better resolution than the X61 non-tablet.

I have the 14.1 widescreen, i know the t61 isnt that heavy compared to other 14 inch laptops, but i really like how portable the x61 is. I dont really carry my t61 around alot partly because of its size, which isnt super portable, i was wondering if there was anyway to get the x61 and then return my t61 without having to pay any fees.

    I don't think so...

You can sell it on ebay for about 800 though.

    a X61 only cost 860 right now.

Get them to let you exchange for an X61t. I would think that the X61t costs a bit more and they tend to allow exchanges without charging the restocking fee if you're spending more money. Just an easy way to bump up the resolution without sacrificing form factor.

I don't know how much time do you left. check the return policy and order the X61 today.

This is the best solution I can see....

Now, do me a favor. please persuade me not to sell my X60s and get a standard screen T61 with SXGA+....

    Thanks.

while the t61 isnt heavy, its heavy enough to make u not want to carry it around and use it.

    :)

I should warn you that the X series isn't really that sturdy.

The lid is 'soft' and the trackpoint and keys will leave marks on the LCD when it's closed...

but the size and weight are just awesome!!
