I have a z61t which is unable to support DVI. Lenovo is offering me to exchange this for z61P. What do you guys think ???. For $1600 EPP price !!!

I'm concerned about the weight and thickness of z61p. I don't do games and need to use it as a desktop replacement at home. I need it to last 3 years and support Vista. I think z61t itself not as slim as I expected. ( 1 Inch).

I know it all depends on what is my requirement. But what would you guys do in this situation.

It is a much larger system. If widescreen isn't a must have, then I'd try to get them to swap out for T60 or an X60.

You have to add another $300 to get the z61p. Plus the current z61p that Lenovo is offering comes with only 1 year warranty. And also, you have to wait at least 3-4 weeks to get the laptop.

As for me, I wouldn't trade my z61t. 99% of the time I use the laptop on the bed or couch and I love the laptop since it's so thin and light. I even did video editing on the laptop and it never froze on me. Once in a while it does get warm but I am ok with that.

Per tabook the current z61p screen is only 175 nits, whereas my z61t is 185 nits and I believe you have the 94402CU (200 nits). And it's better than T60 (14.1 inch) ones which are 150 nits for XGA and SXGA+.

By the way current z61p doesn't come in Titanium cover.

Again as you mentioned yourself it will totally depend on your needs.

For a desktop replacement, the z61p will work very well.
$1600 for the z61p, how much did you pay for the z61t? Is it worth the extra money to you?

I bought z61t for $1600 excluding dock and 3 yr warranty. They are offering z61p for $1600 as well. Listed as $1919 for EPP. That is $319 discount for EPP and $819 on web price. The web price is $2400.

I'm thinking, if I go for z61p just for ATI and a better deal, I will miss the camera and card reader on my z61t.

Only ATI and a 7200 drive are the plus points for z61P

Wait so your z61t is defective?? And I would definitly take that price for the Z61p, Considering you are getting 300 off of epp. You could sell it on ebay and get more for it and then buy another z61t. Also there is a card reader on the z61p

I guess it would depend on how mobile you need to be.
