Hey all I've made a few post here about fan speed editing, undervolting, increasing TDP, and so forth. See my other posts. I figure I would add one more that has probably been my final edit to this awesome machine.

    1) See other posts about maximizing the TDP to 25w and undervolting.
    2) Use Throttlestop to increase TDP level to 2 under the TPL tab. This will make the maximum non turbo frequency 2.4ghz as oppose to 1.8ghz. This is huge and what basically separates a M machines to a U machine.
    3) The above steps for MY machine made my computer run HOT when playing video games (WoW and Sc2). When I stress tested CPU/GPU at the same time I was reaching temps of 95C which is not good.
    4) Repasting the CPU to lower temperatures:

I decided to open apart my laptop and change the thermal paste. As expected I found caked on touth pasted thermal crap that I replaced with arctic silver 5. I also found that the bottom panel serves as a heat sink (if you take off the bottom panel you will see a copper sheet where that back of the processor touches the chasis). I decided to close the gap between the copper sheet and the back of the CPU with some more arctic silver 5. After this was complete my idle temps dropped dramatically by about 8C bringing web browsing temps to range from 42C-47C. When stress testing the CPU/GPU at the same time I now reach temps of only 88C (which is perfectly safe and you will see those temps on stock YP2).

I live in Florida and the above temps were taken where ambient temp is about 77F.

I have a simple question about using Extreme Tuning Utility. Are the changes we make persistent or do they only stick when the app is running? Do I have to reload that app after every reboot!?

if they are stable you do not, but if there is a crash or instability it will reset to default
