I ordered my T60 a couple of days ago and when I checked this morning for the status - it didn't even list the estimated ship date. So, I called in and the sales representative gave me a lot of "there's nothing we can do" and then told me that it should ship by the 18th - of course she then says, "I don't know why your notebook isn't even past stage one, I'll send in a memo."
I don't understand why it would take them such a long time to ship my notebook. I didn't upgrade anything except the ram. And the thing is my flight is on the 23rd, and if it does take 5 days to ship - I won't get it in time, even if they are on time. Is there anything I can do to speed up the process?

How long did it take after you ordered it? -
Some people's shipping date are over-estimated and some are under-estimated. But that doesn't help me. I need to guarantee the arrival of my notebook prior to my departure. I can't just hope they've over-estimated the amount of time to process my notebook.

Did you custom build or is it a think express / top seller ? ... If so, which exact model is it?
(i think there's heaps of 2623D6U's around for example, the ones on sale last week) -
It was a 2623D6U, and I got the additional free 512 MB upgrade. I also ordered a slip case and a mouse with it. Do you think it is more than likely that they over-estimated the shipping date? I was planning on calling in again tomorrow, perhaps bully them.
