    Hi,

when trying to make Recovery Disks the program starts to extract files but after a few minutes i get this error:
"An Internal error has caused this process to fail"

when running lenovo system update i got an error:
"An error occurred while gathering user information."

i tried to update the "lenovo system update" but i'm getting errors while uninstall the previous version and also when installing the new one. After i tried to update, the "system update" is no longer loading, i'm getting a windows error and it's closing.

btw, i have vista with SP1.

does anyone have an idea ?

    Thanks, Erez.

i called, but they want me to pay 40$ for the recovery discs, because i don't have warranty anymore.
until yesterday i didn't know that i can create those discs myself.
they are saying that maybe the Image on the HDD is corrupt.
if it's corrupted then it must have been like that from the start.

If you can find a Vista disc, you could do a clean install and use the key on your machine. Then download any missing software or drivers.

the problem with the "lenovo system update" can also be as a result of a corrupted image?
before i tried to update the "system update" i was able to load it (with an error after starting the update), but now after the update it won't load at all, it's giving me a windows error and then it's closing it.
