Hey, I have started getting two error messages when I boot up my Lenovo Thinkpad T60. They appear everytime I boot up the notebook, regardless if it has been in hibernation or not. The first one reads:

Initializing Intel (R) Boot Agent GE v1.2.50
PXE-E05: The LAN adaptor's configuration is corrupted or has not been initialized. The Boot Agent cannot continue.

This comes up for about five seconds. Does it have anything to do with the ethernet drivers? I have tried reinstalling them, but the same error messages still comes up. The notebook still can however join a LAN.

After the previous message, the following one comes up:

    ERROR
Expansion ROM not initialized - PCI on Motherboard
    Bus:00, Device:00, Function:00

    Press ESC to continue

Then if I press escape, the computer boots up seemingly normally.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

    Hi!

I had the same promblem on my T60 (2007-63G) on vista32.
Goto this link: (a great guy from Switzerland)

With my ThinkPad T60p, I have some problem with the integrated NIC Intel PRO/1000 MT Mobile Ethernet (82573L). During the boot process, the Intel Boot Agent of the Ethernet ship, display a "PXE-E05" error like below:

Initializing Intel(R) Boot Agent GE v1.2.31PXE-E05: The LAN adapter's configuration is corrupted or has not been initialized. The Boot Agent cannot continue.(error message 1)

And after a few second and 2 beep a other error message and you need to press <ESC> to continue the boot process:

    ERROR Expansion ROM not initialized - PCI on Motherboard Bus:00, Device:00, Function:00Press <ESC> to continue(error message 2)

To turn off this error message, the first solution is to disable completely, in the BIOS, the LAN interface. Not really a solution :-(

After a call with the ThinkCenter support and some wrong explanations and not really convinced. I made some seek on Google and found THE solution.

    THE SOLUTION
The EEPROM of the Ethernet ship need a factory reconfiguration (reset). To make this, I made a bootable CD-ROM, to simplify the procedure, based on a solution found in the thinkpads.com forum..."

I just did as described and burned the image in Nero and booted from CD. I used alternative 2 in DOS-menu and it was fixed automatic.

Looks like there are many people with this problem.
    Good luck!
