Hi I am thinking of buying parallel import of 2623D6U in HK... since its much cheaper to get the same specs from US. Is it covered with int'l warranty or I've to take my laptop to U.S. when problem arises...

Just check Lenovo site - their IWS link (proceedto Warranty - Interantional warranty service). You can enter there the type of the particular system you're interested in (such as 2623) and will be reponded with warranty coverage.
The 2623 isn't covered outside US at all. I also considered improting it for myself to my country until discovered this warranty issue.

    Thanks Alex

I wanna ask whether it's possible to buy 2007/1951 series off Lenovo U.S. website. To my knowledge these two series are sold in HK and they are covered globally. But I dun seem to find laptops belonging to these two series on the website...

From the look of it, seems they dun have any globally covered T60's on their site...

Well, you're correct - 2007 and 1951 are covered internationally-wide, however Lenovo (US) doesn't sell outside US domestic market. I inquired them some time ago regarding this - they confirmed they do not ship (and sell) outside US.
Besides, I wuold suggest you to look into buying from some reputable online dealers in US, usually theur prices are at least not worse then off Lenovo site (except of various discounts and special sale programs eligable for US buyers only, so not relevant for us). Many of online retailers (you may want to check through www.pricegrabber.com) ship internationally and offer Thinkpads with full 3-years international wararnty coverage, albeit I noticed those models that indeed covered by this kind of warranty tend to be more pricey then their similarily configured US-only (warranty-wise) counterparts.
Moreover, reputable online resellers usually often have an online stock status you may check prior to placing your order, in many cases they ship much faster (if the particualr model is stocked) then you would obtain from Lenovo.

Actually there's this dealer in HK who will buy it from the US Lenovo site and ship it to HK... so what I am wondering is if there are any internationally covered T60 such as 2007 or 1951 on the US Lenovo website... coz I did some browsing myself and couldn't find any reference to these two series, in fact I could only find the topseller 2623 series on the US lenovo website

    Really appreciate your help Alexz

In such case you have a special arrangement (the guy who buys in US ans ships to HK) which may indeed resolve your issue.
Frankly, I ddin't bother to chekc whether Lenovo US site sells internationally covered models - as soon as I realized they do not ship and sell outside US, it became non-relevant for me.
Once again, I would advise you to consider US-based online retailers instead. According to the bulk of Lenovo US related purchase reports, their delivery take very long at times, much longer then would one buy similar model frmo a retailer.
In fact, I have contacts in US (family, friends and our co-workers) and also considered shipping to them so that they will ship it to Israel, however accountign for secure S&H and our local Custom VAT ot becomes clear that it doesn't worth the efforts because I would approach our local prices in total.
As for me, the only option of bringing from US would be either figuring someone flying to my country I would ask him to bring the laptop, or hunting for some increadable deal that would justify the expenses (such as good configured T43 for under 1300$ os similar)
