    Enabling Aero while on battery

    I just reinstalled my T400 (windows 7) and noticed that when it's on battery power now, it disables AERO. It did not do this before, how do I leave it enabled?

    that happened to me a couple of weeks back i had to reinstall windows again

    That is completely unnecessary. Aero works very nicely on battery powered laptops.

    Most power management profiles turn it off when running on battery to conserve energy.

    While on battery with Aero turned off, go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options and flip to the Balanced or High Performance profile. Aero comes back.

    It's rather easy to control this via the built-in Windows 7 profiles. If you have the Lenovo Power Manager installed, you can use their built-in profiles or customize your own.

    A re-install is not required.

    I fixed this issue by going into the Windows Themes (in personalization) and setting it to use the Windows Aero theme while on battery power.
