    Hey everyone,

just recieved my new Thinkpad, (soooo cool btw :D :D ), but im having one problem with the Embedded Security Chip. After i updated and installed mcafee virus scan/firewall, i restarted the computer and when it rebooted, it did the "checking embedded security chip" dialogue, but then didnt move forward from that... Happened to anyone else or and ideas what to do? Might just try a reinstall..

    thanks, mike

I had this problem after a crash and had to call IBM in Atlanta about it. It was an issue with Client Security Solutions ver. 7 and its problem with crashes. Unfortunately, I had to uninstall CSS (in safe mode - PITA) and had to go without the fingerprint reader for a while. Then I got daring and reinstalled CSS and it's worked since.
