    Hello,

I have the following problems with my 14" WS T61:

    - The eject button on the DVD drive does not work. I can only eject by using the 'eject' command in windows explorer.

    - I cannot remove the ultrabay device. The handle gets out and windows detects I want to remove the device when I toggle the litltle button next to the green light, but when I pull on the handle it does not want to come out. It is stuck.

Anyone expriences the same problem? I bought the laptop few months ago but never bothered with this since I dont have any other ultrabay devices, and I dont feel like leaving my laptop to a depot for many days...

    Thanks

It's funny you should mention that. I have a new t61p and the eject button does not work. i assumed it's something I did.

I wrote a progran to open the device today. But if Explorer will do it, there's no need for such a program. The button on the t61p drive is flush with the drive and something in software is needed to open it.

The sliding button doesn't eject the handle? If you do get the handle out then you need to put a little more muscle into pulling it out. It takes more pulling then you think it does.

You do need to tug the handle a bit, it doesn't just fall out once the handle is ejected.

Yes the sliding button ejects the handle. Its just that I pull quite hard on the handle and the device does not come out.

I will trying pulling harder but I worry about breaking something :)

The good news is now they can send you a new drive instead of you having to send your whole machine in for repair!! :)
