I bought a used T61p few weeks back, it has some cracks on the back of the base cover where the vent is, probably due to drop or something like that. After few days usage, i was experiencing overheating issues with cpu and gpu. therefore i tried to contact lenovo to fix the issue. they recommended a local service depot where i dropped my laptop there, on the same day, my local service depot called up and said the one of screws on the base cover is missing and another screw is not the proper one, so they denied my warranty and suggested me to call lenovo again. I explained the situation to the rep and he was very helpful, offer to send me a prepaid box and send the laptop to the service depot.
It has been over a week passed by and i haven't heard from them. so i called again to see what is going on, it appears that the depot replaced the base cover for me free of charge and still waiting for the new motherboard arriving. I was surprised the level of service that i got since i've read lots complains regards the terrible depot service and the classic spill excuses. Plus the warranty was denied by the local depot and i still got base cover and motherboard replaced.
I'm still waiting for the laptop to be repaired and shipped back as of now. Hopefully it goes well.
