I have a Thinkpad X22 and I'm curious on if any of the hardware is known for failing. If so, how much would it cost and how hard are the parts to find nowadays? I love my X22, but I rather get a new laptop with a 1+ year warranty than have cling to an older laptop that'd cost me more in the end.

I say see how it goes. There is no reason it is going to fail and you can always get a new box if does and the repair is too expensive. As an interne/office machine it will do fine.

Thinkpads usually don't fail. I have a 570/e which is still running great (for office related tasks) and the X22 is even newer.

I love my secondhand X30. It's the smallest laptop I've ever had. The first time I held it in my hand, I was totally amazed at how light it is. For internet, word processing, and mild multitasking, it's actually a very snappy notebook. It's probably the best $300 college investment I've ever made thus far.
Ease/cost of maintaining a Thinkpad X22? Any unreliable hardware components?
