I've heard that IBM employees have been willing to share their eep discount, and I'd appreciate it if one could email/PM me with one as well.

After two weeks of reading all about the pros & cons of several laptops, I've FINALLY decided upon the thinkpad t43 (76u model: 2.0 ghz, 512, 80 gig, bluetooth, no fingerprint reader, x300, 14.1 SXGA, cdrw).

I'm on a really limited budget, especially after donating funds from this month's paycheck to the Red Cross (Hurricane Relief Fund). Could someone help me make this purchase with an EEP code? I'd really appreciate it. I've been waiting a whole year to buy a new laptop, and I'm really excited about the opportunity to have my own t43!

Feel free to PM or email me.

There are student and credit card deals to be had on their website. I would cut back on the CPU. The 2.0Hz really jacks up the price. You'll likely never notice a difference between the 2.0Ghz and 1.86 or 1.73Ghz. I would look on ebay as well. Just make sure you buy from a reputable seller. I got my T42 there. It was brand new with three year warranty. You might want to consider a T42 which you can probably get a better deal on. It has better battery life as well. Good Luck

Good point. I'm willing to go with the T42 w/1.86 or 1.72Ghz, and as long as it has 60gb of harddrive space, I'd be pretty happy. I've been using an old Dell that is in bad shape, and I've been working hard with it while saving up for a new IBM. I'm really excited about getting a thinkpad. It will be so much better for work every day. :D
