On July 29, I ordered from Lenovo an E560 with an I -7 processor, 1080 p screen, and 16 g memory with a 256 SSD. My travails in getting it shipped are in this thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...-minute-how-to-get-action-from-lenovo.794700/
After escalating it as far as I could, and speaking with someone in Corporate, I am now told that the E-Series is being discontinued, apparently because they can't get the parts. This, despite it still being listed online even now. They are suggesting an L series for me instead. None of the models listed has the I7, though I'm not sure, for my purposes, that matters a great deal. I am, of course, frustrated with the company, and honestly am sticking it out because I have difficulties with my hands, and the trackball will be useful.
I would welcome thoughts, ideas, and suggestions. I am also somewhat aghast that a company just decides to cancel an entire series while it apparently is still being sold. Has this happened before, to anyone's knowledge? Do I have any recourse?
I'm appalled at the way this has been handled.
Good customer service, IMO, would be to offer me a computer that includes all or most of what was on the one I ordered, for no more than the price I agreed to pay in July. This would mean a T560, which can match the specs, though it doesn't have an optical drive. I can live with that.
E560 Thinkpad being discontinued, according to Lenovo Corporate--T560?
