I have the Lenovo E520 ThinkPad Edge which I just got from lenovo.com

It has the fingerprint reader so I set it up to read my finger. It pops up every time Windows 7 starts. I assumed you had to swipe your finger before you could access anything on the computer, much like entering an Administrator password to prevent others from accessing your information.

Well I just closed out of the fingerprint reader before swiping my finger to see if it would prevent me from doing anything on this laptop. I was allowed to open files, search the web, etc.

What good is the fingerprint reader if it allows anyone to access your laptop if you don't swipe!?? I looked for a setting to say block access unless fingerprint is read but I don't see anything. How do I get this thing to work properly??
